At Cofton Holidays, supporting local has always been at the heart of what we do, so when we were invited to visit Sandford Orchards for their annual Loyaltree Day, our team couldn’t wait to head into the Devon countryside and learn more about one of the fantastic suppliers we proudly work with.

Based in the heart of Mid Devon, Sandford Orchards are renowned for producing award-winning ciders using locally grown apples and traditional methods, all while championing sustainability and supporting Devon orchards. Their drinks have become a firm favourite with both our guests and team alike, making this visit even more special.

What is Loyaltree Day?

Loyaltree Day is Sandford Orchards’ way of celebrating the relationships they’ve built with local businesses, suppliers, and supporters over the years. The day brings people together to learn more about the cider-making process, the history of Devon orchards, and the passion that goes into every bottle and pint.

For us, it was a brilliant opportunity to step behind the scenes and gain a real insight into the journey from orchard to glass.

Behind the Scenes at the Orchard

During our visit, the team at Sandford Orchards gave us a full tour of the site, including their production and distillery areas. We learned about how their cider is crafted, the different apple varieties used, and the care taken throughout the entire process to maintain quality and flavour.

Of course, no trip would be complete without trying a few of their products too! From crisp traditional ciders to lighter fruity blends, it was fantastic to sample the range and discover more about what makes each drink unique.

Experiences like this are incredibly valuable for our team. Not only does it help us better understand the products we serve across site, but it also strengthens the relationships we have with passionate local businesses that share similar values to ours.
