Tent only Camping in Devon
For tents, we have a range of low-cost, grass camping pitches, in various locations across the park. Just park, pitch, and enjoy.
The Orchard is an area reserved exclusively for tents, where you can pitch up between the apple trees, especially nice in the spring when they are in blossom. It’s located a stone’s throw from the main park facilities including the indoor pool, fish & chip take-away, and fishing lakes.

Super Pitches (Serviced)
Perfect for a stay at any time of year, all of our super pitches come with electric hook-up as well as water and waste connections with ample room for car parking and space for an awning.

Hard Standing Pitches
Soak up the breath-taking Devon views over our park every morning or stay close to our fishing lakes. Each hardstanding pitch has plenty of space to set up an awning and to park your car.

Grass Pitches
Our standard grass pitches are suitable for tents, touring caravans, and motor-homes in the summer months. Complete with electric hook-up, all our Grass pitches are level or terraced and individually marked out.

Accessible Pitches
Our easy access pitches include hard standing pitches for caravans and motorhomes and dedicated tent only pitches. Located close to the shower and toilet facilities which are just a short level walk away.
Electricity on all pitches is charged separately to the pitch price. Electricity supply is managed by an app that can be downloaded before your stay and is activated by scanning the QR on your arrival. Electricity is charged at 30p per KWh in accordance with OFGEM guidance.

Is Cofton a good campsite for families?
Yes, Cofton is a family-friendly campsite in Devon with plenty for children and adults to enjoy. Families can make the most of our indoor and outdoor swimming pools, play areas, woodland adventure area, entertainment, kids’ activities, restaurants and open space across the park.
Is WiFi available on the touring park?
Yes, WiFi is available on park. Cofton has WiFi access points across the site, with free WiFi in the main complex and paid WiFi plans available for guests staying on park.
When are grass camping pitches available?
Our grass camping pitches are generally available from mid-March until the end of October, with some areas open seasonally depending on demand and ground conditions.
What family camping pitches are available?
We offer grass camping pitches in a range of areas across the park. Our pitches are individually marked out, with electric hook-up available, and are allocated by our warden team on arrival.
What time is check in and out?
Check out time on our touring pitches is 10am, Check in time on our touring pitches is 12pm
Can we camp near the children’s facilities?
Pitch locations vary depending on availability and the time of year, but our team will always do their best to allocate a suitable pitch for your family. Some camping areas are close to key facilities such as play areas, the indoor pool, outdoor pools, entertainment venue and toilet and shower blocks.
Is there evening entertainment for families?
Yes, our entertainment venue opens from 5pm, with children’s entertainment starting early in the evening. Families can enjoy activities, shows, party dances, games and a child-friendly menu before the later entertainment begins.
How do I pay for electricity during my stay?
Electricity is supplied through a meter on your pitch and managed by Metpow. When you arrive, simply scan the QR code on your electricity bollard and follow the on-screen instructions to activate power to your pitch. You can pay by card using a pre-authorisation, so you do not have to download the app to get connected.
For the best experience, we recommend downloading the Metpow app before your stay. The app works like a smart meter, allowing you to turn your power on and off, monitor your electricity usage and see what power you are using during your stay. This helps you stay in control of your costs and helps us all reduce unnecessary energy use.
Some mobile networks can be limited in parts of the park, but WiFi is available across Cofton. If you need to get online when you arrive, you can request a free 3-hour WiFi trial from Reception.
A holding charge will be placed on your payment card when you activate the meter. Your final electricity usage will then be calculated and charged at the end of your stay.

How close is Cofton to Dawlish Warren beach?
Cofton is around a 10-minute drive from Dawlish Warren beach, or approximately a 30-minute walk through our private woodland. The park is also well placed for exploring the South West Coast Path and the wider South Devon coast.
