Local Events Not to Be Missed

Autumn is packed with exciting events across South Devon, making your autumn stay at Cofton even more memorable. From live music and seasonal celebrations to local markets, festivals and family-friendly events, there’s always something happening nearby. Explore the events taking place in Dawlish, Teignmouth and Exeter, or head to the beautiful Powderham Castle for one of its autumn events. With so much happening on our doorstep, you can enjoy a day out discovering Devon before returning to Cofton to relax and unwind. Tuck into some food at Powderham’s Food Festival on the 3rd October, watch and browse some fantastic local crafts at the Creative Craft Show at Westpoint on the 24th-26th September or learn everything there is to know about Agatha Christie in Torquay at the International Agatha Christie Festival from the 12th-20th September.

After a day of exploring, there’s nothing better than heading back to Cofton and settling into your accommodation. Whether you’re staying in a cosy cottage, luxury lodge, caravan or glamping pod, autumn is the perfect excuse to slow down and enjoy some quality time together.

Wrap up warm and head out on woodland walks through our grounds, discover the changing colours of the season, or take a stroll to nearby Dawlish Warren beach. There’s plenty to keep the whole family entertained too, from cosy swims in our indoor pool to delicious meals and drinks at The Swan and Amelia’s or our themed weekenders for a groovy stay. Whether you’re looking for outdoor adventures, relaxing days or quality family time, autumn at Cofton is the perfect excuse to slow down and enjoy a Devon getaway.

For the kids, we still have plenty of activities when we head into October Half Term, from spooky themed pottery painting and crafts, to fancy dress and discos. There’s also a chance to carve your own pumpkin and get into the Halloween spirit!
