Looking ahead to a joyful June and smashing summer holidays…
With half term fast approaching and the summer holidays not far behind, we’re looking forward! We’ve got a JAM-packed (this will make sense later…) schedule full of fun, frolics and food.
At Cofton…
With things beginning to hot up at Cofton, we’re delighted to announce the outdoor pool will be reopening on Friday 26th May. Are you going to join us for a few relaxing lengths in the sunshine, or for our fantastic dip and dine? Either way we can’t wait to see you. Take a sneak peek of the pool via our 360 degree photo on Facebook…
If you fancy sampling one of the finest Devonshire traditions, why not join us for National Cream Tea Day on Friday June 30th. At Amelia’s Pantry we have luscious crumbly scones, complete with thick cream and locally sourced, flavoursome jam. Where else would you want to be?
And what better way to end a relaxing day at Cofton by sampling our on park entertainment. We’ve got a whole host of acts lined up in June for your viewing pleasure. Every Thursday, our very own entertainment manager, Mark Antony will be stepping up to the stage. Mark has a wealth of experience performing in a variety of locations all over the world. These experiences have afforded him the time to refine his act, so get ready for side splitting comedy.
We also have the most authentic Olly Murs tribute act out there. He has the voice, the moves, the looks… He even has the hat! Don’t miss this if you’re an Olly Murs fan, or even just an X-Factor fan!
What about the local area?
We’ve also been marvelling at the local Dawlish Arts Festival, which is certain to showcase plenty of local craft and talent. The festival will be in its 65th year and will present all the things that make Dawlish and the surrounding area a wonderful place to live. The festival will start on 27th May and finish on 3rd June.
We’re also pleased to confirm that Dawlish Warren has kept it’s blue flag status for the 19th year in a row! This means lots of things. Blue Flag status is awarded to beaches that meet the stringent criteria of water quality, safety, environmental education and information. The blue flag is sought after by many tourism operators as it’s a worldwide indicator of high environmental and quality standards.
A bit further up the road, there is so much going on. Our personal pick is the pop up cinema at the Double Locks, which will offer a bit of nostalgia to your trip. Luckily for you, Double Locks is set up as one of our recommended coastal walks/cycling routes. Take a look at the Turf Locks cycle trail if you fancy discovering our wonderful line of coast en route to the pop up cinema.
There’s also something going on a little bit down the road, too. The wonderful Torbay Air Show is a true spectacle. There will be a breathtaking display programme over the bay, including the world famous red arrows. The best views will be available in the heart of the bay at Paignton Green, where there will also be exhibitors and traders on both days of the air show. This is one not to miss, being one of the most popular family days out in Devon for the whole year. Make sure to arrive early to get the best view… Blink and you could miss it, these planes are rapid.
There’s so much going on here. Did we even mention the luscious weather? We’re expecting temperatures approaching 22/23 degrees in June. Take a look at our holiday cottages in Devon and plan your perfect getaway.
