Every year on the first May bank holiday we hold a free fishing experience to give the youngest generations and adults new to fishing a chance to try out their skills. Throughout the weekend you and your family can book expert tutorials from Angling Trust certified instructors.
As part of the weekend, Cofton provide all the necessary equipment and baits, making your opportunity to try fishing as simple as can be.
We are lucky to have five fantastic lakes here at Cofton, all with a good stock of fish including Specimen Carp, Tench, Bream, Roach and many more.
For many, the free fishing experience will be the first opportunity to try out fishing and a great opportunity for some family fun and to kick start the life of some budding future anglers.
Cofton Fisheries manager Luke Broderick said: “The event this year was more successful than ever before and we were delighted by some of the reactions from families down at the lake. This year we had nearly 100 participants over the weekend and it was the best year yet”.
Due to its success the Free Fishing Experience Weekend in May. This event will take place again in October and in 2020, so keep your eyes peals for more information coming soon.
