Rules and Fish Care
- Fishing is only available to guests staying at the park
- Fishing is permitted dawn till dusk
- All anglers must be in possession of a valid fishery day ticket which you can purchase from the tackle shop or reception.
- Up to 2 rods permitted
- A current Environment Agency rod licence is required for anglers over the age of 13 (anglers aged 13 – 16 can obtain a free licence from the Environment Agency)
- All juniors (under the age of 16) to be supervised by an adult
- Barbless hooks only, rig checks will take place.
- No bolt rigs, fixed leads, fixed feeders, rig checks will take place.
- No braided mainline is permitted under any circumstances.
- No bait boats, no spodding or spomming and no bait poles.
- All anglers must be in possession of and use an unhooking mat for all fish, mats are available to hire or purchase in the shop if you do not have one.
- No fish to be retained (except organised matches and keepnets on Powderham Pool)
- Keep nets are permitted on lake 2 powderham pool for a maximum of five hours and you MUST use fishery provided keep nets, personal keep nets are strictly prohibited.
- No rods or poles to be left unattended
- NO LITTER! Please use the bins provided
- Unused bait NOT to be thrown in lakes, use bins provided
- Fish only from constructed pegs
- No moving fish between lakes
- Return fish to the water using landing net or sling to avoid dropping fish
- No standing up holding fish! Keep fish low to the ground over unhooking mat for photos
Specimen Lake Rules
- Adult ticket Holders only
- Fishing is Strictly dawn till dusk. No Fishing in the dark!
- 2 rod limit
- Specimen carp fishing only, rods must have a 2.25 tc minimum
- No sea fishing rods allowed
- Barbless Hooks only. No barbed or Crushed Barbs allowed
- All rigs must be fish safe. The lead must eject if the fish becomes snagged
- Anglers must agree to rig checks when carried out
- A Minimum 12lb b/s line is required. 1Olb b/s is allowed for surface fishing
- All anglers must have a 42″ carp Landing Net and a large Beanie Style or Cradle Style unhooking mat
- We would like all anglers to be in possession of fish care antiseptic to treat wounds and hook holds
- Fish care should be practiced at all times. Do not stand up with fish. Carry the fish in a net or sling to and from the water photographs to be taken over a mat and low to the ground
- Fish only to be retained in net or floatation sling for the shortest.time possible to allow for weighing and camera set up
- Fish only from constructed pegs
- No fishing in the reeds/ beyond the reed line
- Do not leave rods unattended
- No Bait boats
- No Braided reel lines
- No Nuts. Tiger nuts prepared in a tin or a jar can be used in moderation
- No wading
- Swim etiquette and boundaries. You can fish across swims but if someone turns up in a swim it is their water as designated by map and markers
- No saving swims and leaving tackle in swims if you are not fishing
