Thinking of breaking away from day-to-day life for a fun, relaxing or adventurous weekend away? A weekend camping break nestled between rolling hills and sandy coastline might be just what you need. If you’ve not been camping for some time, you’ll be pleased to know that gone are the days of trudging a mile to the closest toilet block which is cold and damp and going to the local water outlet to drag back as much water as you could carry.

If you like to have a few more creature comforts whilst being at one with nature and your surroundings, it’s time to book a weekend camping break at Cofton.

What’s camping like at Cofton?

Aside from opening your tent to views of glorious undulating hills and leafy woodland, weekend campers can enjoy spacious pitches, modern shower and toilet blocks with underfloor heating plus larger family-sized bathrooms. We have ample on-site facilities including a large shop where you can treat yourself to freshly baked pastries and stock up your beer fridge, plus get camping supplies, souvenirs and all manner of games and books to keep you and the family entertained.

If you want to spend some time away from your tent or caravan exploring the on-site activities, we’ve got a pub, café, indoor and outdoor pool, sauna and steam room, fishing opportunities, an arcade, bowling alley, dedicated children’s entertainment programmes and more, so we know for fact you can never get bored.

Spend some time exploring the local area

Weekend camping breaks at Cofton are so much more than sitting outside your tent with a beer in hand whilst the barbecue cooks the sausages (which of course you can still do if you like!). If you want to see what the local areas of Dawlish, Dawlish Warren and even Exeter have to offer, you’re just a short drive away from some gorgeous Devonshire towns.

To explore the charming seaside town of Dawlish, simply jump in the car and you’re there in five minutes. You can wander the quaint, Victorian-style town and shops, lookout for the famous black swans, visit the stunning local beach or navigate the South West Coast Path, where the views are simply to die for.

Dawlish Warren offers the ideal location for nature lovers. Again, just a five-minute drive away, visitors can immerse themselves in the wonderful nature reserve and enjoy some bird watching, soak up the sun on the area’s unrivalled blue flag beach or hop aboard the steam train for a tour of the area.

Exeter is a little further afield, but still less than a half hour’s drive from our camping site. Weekend campers can enjoy the shopping scene, the historic cathedral, the underground passages, the historic quayside and tonnes more. There’s also lots of lovely places to eat and drink for when the need for refreshment strikes.

What about touring caravans?

You’re more than welcome to bring along your caravan as part of your weekend camping break with us. Our touring pitches are well-equipped to house your caravan, and if you find you love our site, we also offer seasonal pitches, so you can set up shop and come and go as you please during the peak seasons.
