Our beautiful location in South Devon means we’re lucky enough to be close to lots of lovely countryside and farmland. Aside from its natural beauty, another benefit of the local countryside is that it provides some rather tasty produce, much of which is sold in local farm shops. Whether you’re coming to stay with us for a break or are just planning a visit to the area, we’ve put together a list of some of the best farm shops in Devon, so you can head on down and choose from a variety of wonderfully fresh and tasty local produce.

Lifton Farm Shop

Located in Lifton just outside Launceston, Lifton Farm Shop is a little different to some of the others. Not only can you buy their produce, but you can dine in and even stay over if you wish. The farm supports the shop and restaurant, and you’ll find everything from fruit, veg and meat through to baked goods and even a deli selling mouth-watering fare.

The on-site restaurant and coffee shop puts the produce to fantastic use, and you can enjoy Sunday roasts and filling breakfasts, or even an afternoon picnic. Find out more about Lifton Farm Shop.

Greendale Farm Shop

A visit to Greendale Farm Shop and you’ll know that they offer nothing but top-quality produce ranging from beef, lamb, chicken and pork, to plaice, hake, cod and lobster – they have their own fishing boats too. If that wasn’t enough, you can also get your hands on tasty delicatessen delights, fresh veg and baked goods. You’ll find Greendale Farm Shop near Farringdon, east of Exeter. It’s less than a 30-minute drive from Cofton too, so if you’re staying with us you can easily pay a visit. Find out more about Greendale Farm Shop.

Darts Farm Exeter

Undisputedly a local attraction in its own right, Darts Farm is home to an artisan food hall, butchers, drinks cellar, fish mongers, plus restaurant and deli too. Visitors are also able to explore the farm itself and pay a visit to the animals.

This particular farm shop started life around 50 years ago as a farm hut, and has since evolved into a popular attraction, all the while keeping the farm itself at the very heart of what’s offered here. Take an afternoon and enjoy the delights that this Devon farm shop has to offer. What’s more, it’s just a 23-minute drive from Cofton.

Ben’s Farm Shop

Located close to central Exeter, the difference with this farm shop is that it doesn’t reside on a farm. Don’t let that change your judgement though, as we (and plenty of others) think it’s a fantastic place to get your hands on some locally produced fare. There’s actually a little collection of shops found under the Ben’s Farm Shop name, and each is supplied with produce directly from Riverford Farm, which has been owned by the Watson family for over 60 years.

With charming, quintessentially Devon shops in Staverton, Yealmpton, Totnes and Exeter, there’s ample opportunity to get your hands on tasty meats, veggies, fruit and lots of other locally sourced produce.

Stokeley Farm Shop

This charming farm shop located in Stokenham, South Devon, offers visitors a lovely relaxing experience, where you can pick up fresh fruit and veg, locally sourced high-quality meat and dairy and even tasty ales.

There’s a small garden centre on site too and an artisan pop-up shop where local artists sell their crafts, so there’s lots of lovely things to purchase during a visit here. If you’re feeling peckish, stop off at the Stokeley café and indulge in lovely home-cooked meals, making great use of those wonderful local ingredients. Find out more about Stokeley Farm Shop.

Old Walls Vineyard

If it’s locally sourced produce of the wine variety that you’re in search of, then take the time to enjoy a tasting tour at Old Walls Vineyard in Teignmouth. They offer tours year-round, and visitors get the chance to explore the vineyards (summer), enjoy a guided tasting session of the season’s wine and a yummy lunch to finish.

Ullacombe Farm Shop

Located within the beautiful Dartmoor National Park, Ullacombe Farm initially started life as a chicken shed! Visitors can now enjoy a lovely little café serving up locally sourced produce, and a farm shop and butchers, providing all manner of fresh and organic products. You can also browse a variety of other local eats at the shop, such as fish, wines, coffee and cider. You’re truly spoilt for choice here!

Knights Farm Shop

Located in Fluxton, South Devon, Knights Farm Shop is just a few years old yet it’s made quite an impression on its customers already. Aside from selling beef, lamb and pork that’s all reared on the farm, you can also get your hands on home-grown fruit and veggies, potatoes and charming seasonable hampers too. The shop has a wonderful rustic appeal, and you can rest-assured that anything sold here is of fabulous quality. What’s more, if you’re staying with us you can easily reach the farm shop in less that 40 minutes by car.
