Cofton is the home of family fishing holidays

At Cofton we have a resident angling coach. Our family fishing coaching is a great introduction to fishing for beginners, or a stepping stone to improving entry level anglers’ skills. These sessions run weekly throughout the school holidays, including half-term.
A coaching session will be fun and informative, all equipment, tackle and bait will be provided.

You may have already met our coach Roly Palmer, and with over 30 years’ experience he knows a thing or two about getting beginners catching and enjoying fishing! For anglers aged 12 and above, a current rod licence is normally required. However, whilst under the guidance of our coach, a rod licence isn’t required. We’re sure you’ll catch the bug, so for any further fishing you will need to obtain a valid Environment Agency Rod Licence.

Included in the coaching session will be 20 minutes of private tuition and from then you’ll be set-up to fish for the rest of the day. The coach will be on hand to watch over, assist and advise for the rest of your session. The fishing takes place from our comfortable platform swims, and we can also accommodate disabled anglers with our easy access pegs.

You’ll need to book to take advantage of this superb opportunity, at only £8 per person (including the above-mentioned bait, tackle and equipment), this represents fantastic value for those looking to get into the fabulous sport that is fishing!

The coaching session will hopefully give you the confidence to fish independently for the rest of your stay! Equipment is available to hire or purchase from our tackle shop as well as ongoing advice.
